Hi!

Well, I hope you like Psycle. It can be a pain at the beginning, but it worths the effort to learn all about. If you come from Modplug (another excelent tracker) you'll find some crucial diferences, but nothing to be affraid. Patience is important, and if you have any question, you can ask here!

From what I know about Buzz: it's a powerful program, but since it's development stops still in its Win95 version, I don't think it's usable anymore. Well, it can be, but the risk to crash and lost everything is too large, for my standards. Altough inspired by Buzz, Psycle is a work-in-progress project, and being a small community, we can discuss the bugs/features on a more closer approach.

Welcome and happy tracking!!

I'm assuming you used OpenMPT, with VST support. Although it has been a while since I used MPT, Psycle has several advantages over it. First, if you want to use VST or a Machine based interface, Psycle's interface is much easier to use as it is more visual. Put your machine down, set it up, and draw a line to the next machine you want to connect it to. Repeat as necessary, then connect to master.

Having said that, Psycle's sampler machine has nowhere near the amount of control that MPT's interface has , when it comes to sample based music. Sampulse is making great headway at giving Psycle the same level of support, but at the moment it is buggy, and only really good for importing music.

Hopefully Synthesis and modular instrumentation is what your looking for, because this is where Psycle really does well. If you want dynamic instrumentation, that you can change the sound of mid-stream - Psycle offers this flexibility, whereas MPT forces you to use static samples most of the time...

Hi, FingerSoup! Nice to see you here!

Maybe I should change for MPT, since 99,9% of my proto-songs are static sample based. Psycle handles it well, but there's certain things where I must work on an external audio editor. I think I'm using Psycle the "old way".

I'm really happy to see you and DANCEnRg here. I hope you all put some psy songs for all of us!!

Cheers!
