Sending notes to effects        Go on top to this Page

So it _looks_ like I can send notes to effects in Psycle. But the effects don't seem to listen. There are some MIDI gate effects (like Miga) in VST that don't seem to hear the triggers that are sent via MIDI. This would be a perfect use for Psycle. Trackers are great for gate effects, and I keep trying to do gated pads in Psycle.

Am I doing something wrong? Would it be hard to pass the note events along to effects?

Mmm.. now that you say it.. I think it's true.. VSTfx don't listen to notes...
That option was added for native effects, and I didn't thought on checking that the others worked as well.

For now, use what JaL7oh has suggested

Thank you, thank you, thank you! Finally, gated pads!

I used mcm 90 40 3c7f
and mcm 80 40 3c00

Miga (and other gates with MIDI input) can be used to break up a "pad" sound into a staccato set of sounds. For instance, break an organ into 16th notes. It's a way to add melodic and harmonic sounds into the rhythm track. (Cello high hats, anyone?) Works great!

Will the VST effects able to listen to the note in the future Psycle ?
The mcm 90 ........ works but it's a little... fastidious.

I found a compressor plugin that can be triggered by MIDI, and this could be great to "play" it with my midi keyboard.

YES YES YES! That IS how you use it! Pretty interesting results... try it out!

I guess now the devs have yet another thing to work on (to not have to use the mcm command, of course).
