best way to create polyrhytms?        Go on top to this Page

has anyone found a way to produce "polyrhytms"
, in my case meaning triols and such, like there
would be a column wich goes to 6 LBP instead of 4?

and that the base LBP would still be 4. this is a shitty
thing in trackers, i used to do that in ft2 with note delays and tempo changes, but it's just too hard
to be fluent. _very_ cool thing would be if the column LBP could be defined ... but it can't be, can it?

why do you want the base lpb to 4? why not just using eg 6 lines per beat. I think it's a really good way..

and no, you can't have different LPB value on different columns, I think

native, it's not possible to have 2 different TPB at the moment, this will come with multi-pattern

but you can still have TPB=12 which gives you the best of both tpb=6 and tpb=4 worlds

(this means you have to adjust the lenght of your patterns though)

Not necessarily polyrhythm related (might be when multi-sequencing comes though) but Impulse Tracker had the option of changing your highlight spacing. Meaning, for standard tracker interfaces, minor highlighting was set to every 4 notes, and Major highlighting is set to every 16 notes.

to switch to 3/4 timing, you would switch major highlighting to every 12 notes, and adjust your pattern length accordingly.

How big of a GUI change is this, assuming that this data will not be saved with the current file format (ie: make it a program or session setting), but in the new file format, could possibly be saved on a per-pattern basis?

Just an idea to give you better reference points

Don't forget that you can also change the "Default new pattern lines" in Settings under Keyboard and misc.

Btw native the LPB I was refering to in another post iss the same as TPB ;P

it's not fun to do it totally shuffle, which happens when you do it tpb 6. nor it's not fun to make it totally straight
4/4. but to make it interesting with triols here and there,
sudden hits with 6/6 basis.

brothomstates does it in cooool way.

sorry, I didn't actually get what you was looking for.

I have used TPB 12 too for this kind of things.
