Note cut off        Go on top to this Page

Hey,

I'm using the plucked string 1.1.

On the keyboard ( computer & midi ) when I play a note it ends very shortly after I have hit the key.

whislt playing the synthesizer using the tracker the notes play on untill another note is played.

why am I getting different envolope or note length values,I've noticed this with other instruments allso & the only way I could find to stop that note playing was using a parameter to OFF the volume.

With MIDI (and in general, with Virtual Synth), you send a Note On to start a note, and a Note Off to end it.

With a MIDI keyboard, the first is sent when you push the key, and the other is sent when you leave the key.

With the PC keyboard, this has been done similarly, to allow you to play live with it in the same way.

Having said all this, you should understand that you have to tell in the pattern where you want the note to stop, using the NoteOff command ( by default on the key "1", over "QWERTY", not the numerical one)

I believed you would already know this. Even trackers had this command.

Yes it was a simple question, though you can't blame people getting alittle confused about the simple things when their is no help full help manual.
And I'm just supposed to know the basic things because some other program had them.

You should take it has whatever is'nt documented in a pyscle help doc is'nt open knowledge.

We know the lack of manual, and we already say that a little knowledge of trackers is recommended to use Psycle.

I didn't want to offend you. This is the tips board, and can perfectly be used for asking these type of things :)

you can find information like this one in the file keys.txt, available in your 'docs' sub-dir, or directly here, on the site, in the docs page (also read other very useful files like tweaking and commands.txt or howto.txt if you didn't already)
