installing new version?        Go on top to this Page

Hi all,
I have just downloaded version 1.7rc1 (already got 1662). when trying to access the settings option in 1.7rc1 the program crashes, I presume its something to do with the previous version. How do you FULLY uninstall 1662 including registry entries? I want to start from scratch with the new version.
Id just like to say that I have got buzz also but think psycle is much better but still think a proper sequencer is far more intuitive and easier to create proper tunes with rather than just looping stuff, Im not all that fond of trackers, maybe its that I cant use them properly. Anyone care to convince me otherwise?

'I ' would'nt want to convince you otherwise,me allso being used to the sequencer, pyscle's tracker style of editing feels alittle alien like. But I would'nt say it promotes just looping sounds,of coarse thats a kinda eliment of looping or rather repeating a beat or chord structure in alot of songs other wise it could seem to lose focus & in some music styles like trance having some repetition is fundemental.

The advice I'd give you is first learn to use it properly, make a song or two.Take your time and find out one way or another if psycle will suit your music making style or you can adapt ur style and possibly make sounds you could'nt using a sequencer.

If you give it a shot and it's still not for you,I've heard rumours of a possible sequencer in psycle then maybe the artists will have the best of both.

Also note that the multipattern sequencer should come with the next major version (3/4 months, hopefully, from now)

multipattern sequencer is really for even MORE repetitive music. The styles of music i like to create aren't repetitive at all, but if find sequencing in psycle fine for it...

I guess everyone has their own ways of using them.I Much much prefer the sequencer style, though I really like the sound and way pyscle is being developed.

With a pattern editor I can design, edit, play & mix with sounds independently of the main song in the sequencer.Like having lots of peaces I can then put the individual patterns together in the sequencer, however I want, what order I want in any place or time in the song.

Allso using the pattern editor I can single out a small or large selection of the sequencer song and edit it in real time as it plays, rather like playing an instrument.

Allso using the buzz style I can name each section & allso put a indivual name to each parameter to tell me what it does @ a quick glance.

Like I said I like the pyscle sound,I'm not complainning I'm just explainning without doubt the sequencer style suits my kinda music making and for me is alot quicker.I was making complex patterns in buzz that with the current pyscle tracker would be very difficult to keep track of.

what I'm saying is psycle would be perfect for me and still allow trackers to use it as one ,if you could use the tracker window as pyscle has now and allso if you prefer just use the tracker as a pattern editor like buzz and place the individual tracks to play in a additional sequence window.

Imagine if pyscle was an orchestra, the instruments play individually (pattern editor ) what makes the song is them playing well together ( sequencer ) you need the sequencer in order to keep a good reference of what each instrument is doing and when it's doing it.

You can manage with just a tracker though being able to see only sections of the song that is all you will do,manage.

Go with the flow

Hope that makes sense ,me knows I think in my own language sometimes.
