| bouncing to wave | |
i was checking Cubase SX beta and it gave me an idea about Psycle.
theres integrated 'bounce' option in cube - very useful, i was wondering if something like this could be implemented in psy: a selected block in the pattern editor is rendered to wave (the channels that arent used in the selection are muted) and copied to clipboard with a single click in the pattern editor's context menu.
much easier than first muting the channels u dont need, then recording the whole pattern and loading it back to psycle...
uh? ~8)

yeah! that's a good idea! Good for turn synth'ed sounds into samples and save CPU

That's pretty near to my idea..
Sometimes I use many effects on one drum sample (compressor, reverb) and that takes pretty much CPU and is kinda useless because the sound is same every time. I'd like to have some kind of effects prosessing on samples ..

I totally agree with you Pikari, sometimes there are sounds that are the same over and over but always have to be rendered with effects in realtime...
For sure I could sample it and put it in pattern manually, but when I'm creating music, I don't like to mess with technical (non creative) stuff... Inspiration don't lasts forever!

This is a great idea!
Especially with FX sounds etc this would save tons of processing power.
One can of course export the sound, then edit it in a wave editor (cut away any silence before sample start, etc), but having an automatic function to do this would be GREAT! This would be exactly the kind of integrated working environment I'm always talking about
Having simple tools to quickly accomplish all those tedious tasks that often get in the way of songwriting...
Percussions, the basic bassline, etc. There are many things that don't change so much in my songs usually.
