does qpsycle still exist? | |
I didn't know where to write this so I wrote it here. Is this project for psycle tracker on linux abandoned? Since it wasn't really been updated since 2008. I just wondered if it was or not. If so is there a way for the project to be taken over by another developer that would revive it so to speak sort of like how LMMS got a revival.

I have been (slowly) working on it. Right now it compiles (YAY!) but the GUI is all kinds of messed up. I have been working no creating a new GUI for it that is slightly better overall, but I don't spend nearly as much time on it as I should.
(All of my changes can be found in the SVN repository. The new GUI is somewhat a mess code-wise, and is very incomplete, but I am working on it.)

I've been waiting for years for a Linux native client - since 1.12.1 beta seems to be working fairly smoothly in Wine, I can wait a little longer. But definitely support releasing qpsycle in some form some day soon!

So, here's the thing. I am the only one who ever touches the qpsycle code, and have limited time and low motivation. It is likely that eventually there will be something that is somewhat workable, but expect it to take a very long time unless someone else wants to help make qpsycle happen...

This is what was written in the compiling stages. These 3 files seems to be missing from the trunk of sourceforge. Any idea if its a error or if its going to be put back together or something? I can't seem to compile it without those files there. And also great job in working on a psycle version for linux. Just wish I was a programmer I'd be able to help but Im mostly a musician.
Reason why I love qpsycle is cause of its pattern editor. Which i think Jaz should implement in the windows version too.
Thanks again,
Sorath

Basically there is nothing qpsycle related that builds/runs in any meaningful way right now. I started to write a new gui around everything, and it is at about 40% useful (the qpsycle2 directory). The qpsycle directory contains stuff that had a few neat ideas, but the non-gui code was radically changed without the GUI being updated and has been completely unusable for about 5 years. I never remembered QPsycle having a great pattern editor ( or even one that was particularly usable and stable.) What was it that you liked about QPsycle's pattern editor?
