Psycle can't save configuration data with default install        Go on top to this Page

Hi, I found out that if I install the latest version (64 bit win) into the program files folder, Psycle can't save the configuration data, and I need to set up things again every time I run it. Strangely, changing the option about where the settings are saved, doesn not help.

So I ended up installing it in root, works.

I will check that, but by default Psycle should be saving the settings in the Windows registry, on Current User, which, of course, it has permission to.

It also sounds strange that changing the config place doesn't work for you. I have a theory, but it shouldn't have been working that way:

If installing psycle as an admin (obviously), and running it, and for some reason the "save in .exe location" is enabled, then Psycle would have saved the file there, where a normal user would not be able to modify.

The problem is that when Psycle loads, since the configuration can be in several places, it just reads in a predefined order, and "exe location" has precedence (because that's the way to have a portable configuration), so a normal user would not be able to override that.

Launching it as an admin, then changing the configuration to current user (or user folder) (which asks to delete the ini file), accepting, closing psycle, and launching with normal user should allow to work normally.

If that doesn't work, you can manually delete the psycle.ini file and configure it afterwards from Psycle.

It migh be connected to rights. I always run the computer as the admin, I thought this would take care of all permissions problems, but still despite this sometimes I need to manually install software via the "run as admin" option. But I think this happened only once to me, and I have a lot of stuff on the computer. (I installed Psycle without excliptly telling the computer to do it as an admin, so maybe this was the fault)

I'm still new to win7 though, been running it only for a few months...
