I'll chip in here and say I also get a crash when doing 2 or 3 undos in the pattern view. (Although this is in Linux/Wine.) Wine pops up a little "Out of Memory" message.

Wow, thanks for that bug report.
I did some code placement/formatting changes between beta2 and RC1 and it seems I forgot to reassing a variable. Basically, it was deleting the memory, but wasn't updating the position, so the next time it crashed.
About the scrollbars in the machine view, that's something that I won't add, at least in 1.8.8.
Basically, the machine view is printed over the view instead of using a view with a scrollable content. Also, the problem is how to determine how much scrolling space is available.
When a song is loaded and machines are out of the visible area, they are moved inside the visible area, which generally means put over an existing one near the edges. It's not perfect, but at least they don't get lost in "out space".

hello there, long time psycle user, first time posting on these forums.
I'm also using the 1.8.8 RC1 Release and have the same midi problem, the device appears in the settings area under the 'input out -> mid -> input device' dropbox, and will let me change to my preferred midi device, but won't save and keeps going back to 'none'
I'm running the 64bit version of psycle 1.8.8 RC1 under windows 7.
I'm trying to use the loopbe1 loopback midi driver.
I hope you can either help me with a workaround or fix this.
also thank you for all your hard work, I've been using psycle for years and I'm so happy to see newer versions.

let me know if there is any more information I can give you that could help to overcome this issue.

also: I just tried re-installing the 32bit x86 version and still had exactly the same problems. so it doesn't seem to be isolated to the 64bit installation.
also please note that I'm able to change other options just fine, but I have some strange error messages when trying to load skins.
it says "couldn't open file for reading, operation aborted" but then seems to load the colour scheme, and (as far as I can tell) all of the graphics associated with that skin.

I have a few bugs I'd just like to mention (without knowing whether or not they have been mentioned already), so here goes.
My first one is that the Block Cut, Copy, and Paste context/right click menu options don't work(I believe this has been addressed already though in the topic)
The second is that when I export a .wav file, there's a small gap at the beginning (not that bad), but at the end it records an additional second (loops back to the beginning and records it.)
And my third is that for whatever reason SUPERWAVE doesn't work properly, but that have to do with the fact that I'm using the version that came with madtracker, I have no clue though. It basically won't let you load a new song or unload the plugin without Psycle crashing. Although it might just be for the one song I have it used in, I don't know.
But other than that, I've been enjoying using psycle. However I won't lie, it ocassionally gives me some annoying problems once and a while :/
Also, I don't know if there's a seperate thread for this or not, but if there's some way to get a cursor to follow where it's playing in the sample editor, that would be a HUGE plus.
Keep up the good work though.

Ok guys, I'm trying to make the final release version in the following days (week).
So far, i've fixed all the problems reported, added the cursor playback in wave editor and tested the problem with Superwave.
This one seems to work well for me. I downloaded the version 2.1 from here http://www.superwavesynths.co.uk/downloads.htm (In fact, its own UI says it's version 2.2) and haven't reproduced any crash when using, saving, loading or closing.
I have to fix some problems in the sound of several plugins, and build the winamp plugin.
I also need to update the help file...

Thanks for the Superwave link.
Also I'd like to add that the asterisk doesn't go away from the song title even after saving the project you're working on if that hasn't been mentioned yet.
