New World is opening for PSYCLE, the TACTILE TABBLETT

As I recently bought myself a tactile Tablett ARNOVA 7 for only 90 dollars....and since it fills my wishes to play music and that I can really play music with it, (see here http://forum.archosfans.com/viewtopic.php?f=80&t=55579 all the APPS made for such devices).....

I was wondering lately, if it would be a big problem for an expert DEVELOPPER to make a KIND of PSYCLE for those TABLETT...(files.apk for ANDROID)....and if it is difficult for a same EXPERT DEVELOPPER to convert a MACHINE and or an EFFECT (VSTI et VST) into android applications for this FUTUR PSYCLE of the FUTUR.......

Because I really do think that the TABLETTS are the new musical instruments of the FUTUR.....and in that field, the APPLICATIONS for ANDROID are still a little bit missing.......

In clear, I thing it would be good for psycle to be seen on this new market, and why not PSYCLE as an application not free, but not expensive either....

Tell me what you think of this idea ?....I still have not been unfaithfull to PSYCLE, not even for a CUBASE and or else....

I am all with you. Tablets can be a great companion device for creating music (*)

With that reason in mind, I contacted last year with the developer of [URL=http://sourceforge.net/projects/buzz-like/]vermilion composer[URL] to work together.

It is a new tracker, more similar to buzz than Psycle, but still quite interesting. It is a Java application, but has been made compatible with android.

I have been busy with Psycle (and real life) but my intention is to make it possible for vermilion to cooperate with Psycle in some way.

Using VSTs would be quite a challenge, though. It would require two layers of emulation ( java -> native linux -> windows api).


(*) I don't think one would use the tablet exclusively, but it allows for a better interaction in several parts.

Hi JAZ, thanks for your IMPROVMENT of PSYCLE....great stuff this TRACKER (thanks to ARGURU too to where he is now).....I love it...and use it very often.....it takes almost all VST et VSTI, mine is loaded with lots of them....I rarely use the patterns, because too complex to me (as I a know not Scholastic Music)....I would have liked the choice of horizontal PATTERNS (like in FRUITY LOOPS), with only check boxes (I am a bit lazy) much easier to me.......

Check http://uloops.net/umc/index.php to give YOU ideas for a TABLETT with PSYCLE.....of course ULOOP is not really on the TABLETT, only an APP that connect to the web site ULOOP, but we can use it on the TABLETT....This is what I am tryng to get at......Why not a PSYCLE on a TABLETT connected on WIFI and to a PSYCLE website with all the functionnality of PSYCLE.....and with loads of VSTI VST....

Certainly, I know that it would be quasi impossible to ""adapt"" PSYCLE in it's full, so that it could work on low cost tabletts.... and even if this was possible, what about the VST, VSTI.....to add.....this would take too much memory....and TABLETTS are not really though for this....

But sure enough, I think TACTILL TABLETT are here to stay and are very conveniant for making music....IPAD is really the best in that field for music, but MAC is not for poors, men and women.....and PSYCLE is for poor people, if they want to make music, they can with PSYCLE......and it is of high quality stuff too...still free....THANKS à LOT guys...

Now, I am going to try your new Version of PSYCLE...(I keep XP.. I do not like vista et window 7)....to see what's improved since last time a few years ago....

Another thought : WHY not make a simple APPS, sort of a PSYCLE vsti and vst HOST (like the famous little and compact VST HOST if you know ?) make it to play VSTI n VST androidized apps with a horizontal grid of check boxes to fill in, as to play the VSTI et VST......and concentrate on ADAPTING or DEVELOPPING vsti and vst for ANDOID apps for the PSYCLE vst and vsti host....

Let go of tryng to add recording functions and so on, for your psycle version for tabletts, that take too much space on the tablett, and no real good uses after all...

A simple jack to jack in a PC and AUDACITY and or an external recording device is enough...to get the sound out of what plays on the TABLETT for recording....

In this way, you concentrate only on the really essential for sort of a psycle lite to run on tablett.....to run on its own and or with the means of a psycle wifi connection to a psycle web site that has it all... I developped this last idea above..Note, the two IDEAS are complementary......in facts....
