Suggestion: Loop Mode change        Go on top to this Page

Hello,

this was a question, but the Thread has been closed...so I suggest this now. It would be great to have it. Just like in the old Alesis HR-16 Drum machine. I do a lot of Soundscapes with Guitars, and switching of the Loop at the next "1" to get to the next accompanying pattern would be great.

---Suggestion---
Could there be a possibilty to switch patterns so that the next pattern starts only when the current pattern has ended...in Loop mode?

Example:

I play pattern 1 (00:00); 32 lines, loop mode on. It is repeated indefinitely.
I want to get to pattern 2 (00:01), 24 lines, loop mode on, by pressing any key, e.g. the space bar (or maybe a MIDI footswitch)...but the switching to pattern 2 should take place at the end of pattern 1, and not before.

I can switch now between pattern with SHIFT+UP/DOWN...but then I switch instantly, in the middle of a pattern...whis is mostly too early.
---EoS---

The thread is not closed. I should remove that "closed" image. It should be saying, "log in to post".

The truth is that Psycle, and trackers in general are editors, and usually the playback is linear.
What you suggest is a slightly different way to use them. (My brother had a drum machine long ago.. yamaha DX-10 or something like that, and it indeed is interesting to have loops and be able to play them at wish).

I may give it a go this weekend but don't expect too much (if i do anything, it would be in the lines of changing the behaviour of F6 and F7)

Oh, sorry, I didn't notice that!

Yes, that's right. A different way to use it...instead of using Psycle as the source for music alone, use it as a clever accompanying looping tool for guitar loops.

That's perfect. Maybe add a button on the left side "Loop mode" to switch between the "now" and the "suggested" version. I think the keyboard shortcuts for F6 and F7 can be changed to the space bar...but this is not too important.

Thanks a lot!
Should we move this reply back to the original thread?
