| Hope this is not a dumb question. Can't get VSTs to work! | |
Hey folks, just beginning to mess around with this incredible piece of software and I love it. I've had fun with the default machines but obviously want more and now I am trying to use a bunch of free VSTs I downloaded, but no matter what I do I cannot get psycle to recognize them! I have read on the FAQ that Psycle wants them in the "VstPlugins" folder and not "PsyclePlugins." I have put them in that folder and still when I go to select my machine none of them show up. I thought perhaps because the folder was in program files and silly windows wanted it to be read-only that was the problem but turning off read-only has not helped either.
Am I missing something obvious? I haven't been able to find anything related to this in Help, on the wiki, or by searching this forum. Hope somebody can show me what I'm doing wrong.

Click the "Regenerate Plugin Cache" or "Check For New Plugins" button (either will do the job, I think). Hope it works!

Also, you can have VSTs in any directory you want, you just have to set your plugin directory in the options window. (I have mine in C:\Program Files\VST\)
