organizing, mastering        Go on top to this Page

just a bunch of small tips for the machine window...

you can organize your machines in a kinda "studio channel" way.
for example let's say you use several samplers with effects for the drums, you can plug all of them (their output) to a psycle gainer, plugged itself to the master. you then have a "virtual" channel.
this way you can, for example, change the overall drums volume by tweaking this gainer volume.
let rename this gainer plugin "drums channel" and your tune looks cooler
of course this can be useful anytime you have several machines which have to work together as a single one.

you can also use the same thing to master you tune : organize all the machines which have to work together, and plug them by group to eq plugin (for example blue parametric eq).
each eq is then plugged to the master and you can work on mastering eqs on your tune "virtual" channel by "virtual" channel.
again, rename these eq plugins to each "virtual" channel description, and you're done !

i know this is basic tips, but it still can be useful for people new to psycle.

Yeah.. I use these kind of "tricks" a lot but I don't recommend mastering that way!

Use real mastering programs instead.

Pikari, i meant eqing your channels in a way it can work together, not real professional mastering of course

i don't use mastering softs often, cause when i release
a .mp3 file i'll keep the original psycle-sound.

But whenever some mastering is needed, i use
T-Racks. It is a great prog for mastering your tunes.

Or.. try some mastering plugs (compressor, limiter, eq etc...) inside Psycle. It eats a lot of CPU power but it is
fun

Usually I use SoundEngine for mastering. Yeah, I know it may be a little "poor" if its compared to Soundforge etc, but it's FREE.

And.. there's a bit more challenge in mastering when you use SoundEngine, not those luxury programs

well I think mastering is always needed...
I work this way:

70-80% of all work
- track song in Psycle + "basic" Equalizing

20-30% of all work
- record every intrument into separate files
- Equalize them in SoundForge + additional effects
- compression of all tracks
- normalizing of all tracks
- load every track in Cool Edit Pro
- volume mixing + panning
- mixdown all tracks
- overall compression and boost frequencies
- that's all!
