More options for sorting machines needed | |
I did a search for this in the forum, couldn't find a thread that had discussed it earlier, so I'm posting the question:
When I hit F9 inside Psycle, the only option I find to sort the machines are by
-Type of Plugin
-Class of Machine
Would it be possible to add more options there, so that one for instance could classify the machine in different sub-genres like:
-Bass
-Drums
-Synths
-Strings
-Effects
-Etc
I have added about 200 machines to my VSTplugins directory now, so it would be a great help for me if I would be able to classify them for use.

I agree, that feature would be handy. I'd like to add the ability to "tag" machines to qpsycle, and samples too. But.. only when everything else is done

The feature was started back in 2006 or so, and it still is in the (abandoned) 1.9 branch.
Basically, it added a "sort by categories", where the user
was able to classify plugins into subfolders, with a special folder named "favorites".
VST's (effects) may be able to autotag (they can report what they do). For natives, we already know what they are, so they could be pre-sorted by default.
It was not ported back to 1.8.5 because it was not finished, and actually wanted to redo the whole "add new machine" window, but i found no time.
Guess i should revisit the code then.-
