Really great tune, I like that a lot. First tune of that style I think I've heard before from Psycle
Sounds really good on my headphones, nice mix, nice use of effects.
One constructive criticism I thought of as I listened would be to add some bit of effect to the vocals, they sounded slightly "dry".

Man, I'm listening so many great tunes in here, that I'm really ashamed to put something for critics! lol
You made it with Psycle? The vocals included? Awesome!! In truth, seems a remix from the Depeche Mode song!!
As always, if you could comment on the production, it'll be nice!
Besides, I love this song, since I'm a DM fan!

thanks for the tip. i was kinda going for an unmixed feel for the vocals but i think you're right. a little more effect won't hurt and will probably help.

Thanks. Yes I'm a huge DM fan (seen em 3 times and have all their discs) as I think others here are too.
Look forward to a cover of 'Precious' I plan to do soon.
For the production, i'm still developing my 'system' haha. But basically, i create most of the music in psycle. at some point before i am finished, i stream to wav and open in multitrack recorder. I lay down some guitar. then chunk it up into measures and load back into psycle.
then for this particular track, once i was done sequencing, i exported to wav and went back into the multitrack to add more guitar and the vocal.
it is pretty effective to add riffs of whatever instrument you play, which i think can be easier to sequence in psycle rather than meticulously recording everything in real time as you compose!
but entire vocals would be a bother to add in psycle other than short snips for ambient effect or sound bites.
here's another track i just finished that is a better example of what i have described for loading measures of real instrument. This one is sequenced all in psycle (in other words no recording on top of the finished psycle product):

Yummy. My collection of your songs is growing constantly.
Like that one too. And yep - some light reverb (just a little bit so it's barely noticable) on the vocals would be really nice.
Btw... any chance to get the dry vocals ? Have something (remix-wise) in my mind.
Anyway... keep up mate. I like your stuff !

Thanks for that. And yeah, i have the dry vocals only they aren't that dry really. its just there was so much distortion in the mix that it drowned out the vocal effect. but it could still work for you maybe. it's just kind of scratchy, fuzzy, but clean high quality.
the wav is 37.8 mb. any ideas on how to get that to you?

well.. you can either make a mp3 (224kbit/s +) or use winrar to compress it (max compression) and upload it somewhere (zshare may be a solution. they acccept all filetypes). Or simply upload the .wav (if you have a good connection or enough time )

oh i can give you the whole thing. I found the original wav - mono - and compressed that makes 10 megs.
i hope you make something awesome with it. its pretty clean, even without noise reduction. i have a behringer mixer and for vocal mic i use a Sure Beta 57A cuz it's unique frequency at an affordable price. I guess even pro musicians use it too.

let me know once you get that and i'll remove it afterwards.

Hi, Directionless! Thanx for reply!
To me, the "dry" vocals on your song fits perfectly. Kind of a "bored" feel, and reminds me a Placebo song.
Can't wait for the 'Precious' cover! I think it's one of the best DM moments, since 'Enjoy the Silence' and 'It's no Good'.
BTW, turboupload.com is a good file hosting site too.
