Importing .IT | |
HI all. I'm sorry in advance if this has been asked before.
Question about importing IT files into psycle. (I'm trying to revamp some old tunes):
After importing and saving as a PSY file, it is no longer usable. Psycle closes when I try to open the new PSY.
Basically, I don't even care about the samples or IT tweaks. I've gone so far as to reassign patterns to VSTs and strip all IT related data from the file before saving. Yet no success.
Perhaps there is a step I have missed or maybe this feature is not implemented? Just curious for anyone's advice on a 'work-around' process or some way of achieving this? I really only desire the pattern data without having to track it in manually.

The issue lies with Sampulse - It's a work in progress. I'd love to see this machine work, as I have some IT files which I'd hate to port into the sampler interface. I'd also like the IT command set.
Basically, if you delete the sampulse machine, and put in samplers, and other machines, then change all your notes to the appropriate machine, then it SHOULD work..... it is unfortunately a very tedious process if you used instruments in IT, or if you didn't have a clean track organization (separate your instruments by track).

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. I will give that a whirl. and yes, my tracks are organized

Oh, crap, this just happened to me yesterday, I was working several hours on an old IT, and then later realized Psycle won't load the tune anymore :/ Quite annoying... But I think I'll try removing the machine altogether next time as soon as I start to work... There's a lot of old good material from a friend that I would like to work on...

Hi Taika-Kim. Is it still doing that for you in 1.8.5? Sampulse is working for me in the new release, at least well enough to be able to save and load IT imports that I'm working on.
This was a problem in the older versions though.
Looking forward to hearing your IT reworks!
