march 2007: xpsycle status        Go on top to this Page

Hi all,

I wanted to post some news about the current status of xpsycle.

Things have changed a little regarding xpsycle. After a brief debate we have decided upon the Qt toolkit -- chiefly for reasons of development speed. It should allow us to get a working version of xpsycle out much more quickly.

I'm currently in the process of building up the GUI in Qt, after which we can shoehorn the existing xpsycle code into the new GUI.

There are plenty of pages about xpsycle over at the Psycle wiki: http://psycle.sourceforge.net/wiki/Xpsycle. Some of it is outdated at the moment, e.g. the parts about building xpsycle, but you may find the Ideas page and the Roadmap page of interest.

Development is also discussed, amongst other things, in the psycle-dev mailing list, which you can sign up for here: http://sourceforge.net/mail/?group_id=10834. You can also read the archives online, although Sourceforge doesn't seem to archive all the messages correctly -- some of them are missing.

It is currently just myself working on xpsycle, so if there are any devs out there that are interested in helping out, please get in touch via the mailing list

I will post progress updates to this forum monthly; for more regular updates check out the mailing list.

Cheers
Neil
