sYnTH&$is build too... My new idea for Psycle... It's like a Synthedit but completely integrated in Psycle... No VST Export or something like that...

A simple machine that permits you to create .psp (Psycle Plugin files) and using them for generating sounds... Like gleetchlab btw... A modula interface to create great sounds and using them in your creations... Cool!!! .

I've never sat down and played with SynthEdit, but I do know what it is. So correct me if I'm wrong, but couldn't you export all of the individual components (ie: oscillator, LPF, BP, etc.) as seperate VST plugins, and then use them to "build your own synthesizer" in Psycle using the signal-path/instrument-linking in the machine's view?

Anaki: you couldn't deal with the multichannel inputs wih the synthedit parts anyway, and some of them take both MIDI and audio signal inputs.

I think this is a bad idea overall: synthedit already exists if you want to do modular synthesis. Psycle is essentially a sequencer/tracker, not a synthesiser.

if you want the modular functionality as a VST, there's a plugin that does this (can't remember the name, but i think someone posted it in the VST section of the site), much like synthedit except that you can edit the layout of your custom synth/effect within your sequencer.

however, if you want such a machine for Psycle, YOU can code it

the other devs are far too busy with more important things

Um, you may not be able to use multi-inputs, but there are plenty of great/classic synths that had a linear signal paths anyway... besides, multiouts are available, which would in turn create a tree-effect, and would be pretty useful too. As far as the actual modules themselves go, couldn't you just keep with just using VCA-orientated modules? I would think that would work nicely.
