| Slow startup, some ideas | |
There has been some talk about slow startup in the recent versions.
I have realised, that every time I startup Psycle, my virus scanned scans over 300 files. That's incidentally about the same amount than the number of pluging DLLs I have on machine. The scanner window also shows the scanner scanning the DLLs.
I guess it wouldn't do this unless Psycle requested those files, since my scanner is set to scan on "file read" only.
This takes a lot of time, but luckily happens only on the first startup after a restart.
But maybe this tells something? Does Psycle need to do some check every time? Aodix for example starts up instantly every time...

Hmm, with the virus scanner set to inactive Psycle starts much, much quicker also the first time after a reboot. I'm using Antivir...

It shouldn't be checking the dll as in contents, just the filesize and modification time. Maybe there is something that changed between 1.7.6.2 and 1.8.0 in this regard. I will have to investigate.
