| I need some info about electronic pianos... | |
Hello musicians, psyclers and all.
Me and my gf are going to buy a electronic piano and i'd like to be very well informed before do it. Which technologies exist today that worth the money and which are good companies building electronic piano. I've been looking Yamaha and Roland ones, and some are really GOOOOD
But i'd like to know more. I want it to be very similar to a piano in touching it and in sound, with pedals, MIDI/USB, some different sounds and some effects and 88 keys.
For example, lately i've discovered some new instruments (like MIDI guitars) allow recording its audio output directly to PC using USB (instead of analog cables).
Can anyone help me or give me some info or links??
thanks....
finally i'll have a MIDI keyboard!!!

if i had infinite amounts of money id buy clavinova
played one at a music shop and didnt want to leave
realistically
id be happy with mda-piano and a used midi keyboard =)
you probably want to look up to something that can record performances
so you can hear your playing
also if you want to play classical pieces you probably want a screen that automatically shows next notes as you play the piece, so you don't have to scroll sheets

The roland looks nice but it's not exactly what we are looking for.
The clavinova series are what fit the best for what we want.
I've been looking in internet (Roland, Kawai and Yamaha) and i like Clavinovas (CLP and CVP series).

If you're going to use the keyboard with external banks, VSTi, etc... Then the major concern is looking for weighted keys, and some solid MIDI capabilities. You don't want a cheap Casio that's got no velocity control, and keys that feel more like sponges than piano keys.
If you want something that's good as a standalone as well as a MIDI device, then you need to shell out some good $$$ for a decent keyboard like a Clavinova.

somewhere
there is a lone house
where lights turn on every night
and soon after
sounds of a piano can be heard
and the lights flicker with the tones
dancing in a quiet symphony
of the old piano
*
i actually like piano music quite much
try works of c. debussy, e. satie and others
from the early modern period

I love C. Debussy - Deux Arabesques, my favourite piano composition ever. Who knows, maybe some day i'll can play it...
Eric Satie is really lovely too, i play Gymnopedie 1 and it's a really nice and special song.
