Yeah, something about the connection with murdering orphans was a little too dark. We want something upbeat and happy!
And I don't support the murdering of orphans... I've been watching Quentin Tarantino movies, CSI, and The Simpsons lately. That kind of mix would make anyone's humour go dark... >:)

What about "Psycle JAM Sessions"
And what about doing a song with all the current musicians in psycle, like a coop with everybody. I have seen this idea in spanish music communities, and i liked it. very much.
It is more or less, someone starts a song, then another one add some patterns (and finnish his turn), then another one add some other patterns and so on . . ., of course trying to fit the previous done music, but adding ur own style. Then the result is a big song like in progresive style made by all of us. (Using only natives of course).

Maybe if we do it with everybody, sets of 4 patterns would be better song symmetry-wise?
A name....
hmm..
Psyclectics? Like in eclectic?
Autopsycle? Like in we're surgeons cutting apart other people's work that's been declared dead?

Hmm I think the best to do is to let it go as it wants..
Anarchic exchanges will maybe permit to find some ping pong effects or these type of entertainments ( Maybe I'm missing reality ? )
I have put a complete song on the wiki page ( this is wanted ), because I think this way is just a method to say other peoples :"Use this work if you want, remix it, whatever you want: do it and share it !"
Maybe we will create sections for different usages of this aera ?

RE the legal note on the page - Perhaps the following license would be of use:
Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 2.0
In addition, I think it would be of benefit to create a policy (not law) to outline the usage of VST/VSTi - That they must be free versions, not demo, commercial, or hacked versions, and that all VST used must contain a link in the accompanying text file.

Psyclectics
I love it :o)))))
( I didn't understand the four pattern progression was for an everybody's work I should have read the whole thread ... I'm not a dull boy )
I wonder the number of psycler of this project.. If we are a lot to work on the file, maybe 4 pattern will do a to long track, but if we are 3, that will make to short..
We must define the sequence of worker before beginning and decide how to share song's added time per worker ( and mission ... some will maybe don't add anything to the song but work on sound unity or tuning synths etc.. )
Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 2.0
I like the idea , gonna read all text to see if it fits our work.

This psyclectics project looks interesting.
I agree with Taika-Kim : no rules !
I don't know if i am able to continue other's song
But i'm sure i am able to remix/mangle/denaturate/make it unrecognizable
ToX j'ai pas encore tout compris avec les stages machins, all the "unfinished_songs" ans their children will be on the same page ?

Well, now that it's almost all set (I like the name Psyclectics ), I guess I'll be doing some uploading this week .
I believe in no rules (although this doesn't apply everywhere )!!! Let whoever finishes/edits a track do whatever he/she feels like doing.

The original song is Stage 0 and all songs made taking his start from stage 0 will be stage 1. All songs made with Stage 1 will be Stage 2 etc. etc.
To follow the song's evolution we'll have peoples' names ( and content of each txt files joined to zip keeps this order too )
All songs' versions (including the finished one) will be on the same page. However a "finished" song can be used for the next stage (giving a remix for exemple ?).
There's certainly a far best method to contain all these information but I thought to this method for a relatively simple wiki usage ?
This is not a definitive way of usage, I'm seeking for a CVS-like system to manage versions ( maybe subversion ? .. It must be user-friendly, we are here to compose music, not learning computers )

(Apologies if anyone's already mentioned this before)
So what we are talking about are two different things. One is a database of unfinished songs for other artists to carry on with and the other is a chainsong.
The guys over at MadTracker recently did a 'Chainsong' whereby many different artists kept on adding to a song and it worked out (for the most part) brilliantly.
Download MadTracker at:
http://www.madtracker.org/main.php
and you can get the song here:
http://chainsong.madtracker.org/Chainupload/MTchain2004.zip
It would be great for all the Psycledelics to do a chainsong. I'm definitely up for it

Wiki page does not yet exist?
Well, here's one via yousendit.com...7 days from now it won't be there..hopefully someone can grab it and do something nice with it..
Very mellow with a hint of trance (OMG! trance-ish something from ME?! :p) and an early 90's feel.

Feel free to mod and release...

Feel free to use it as a base....that's why I posted it...
I always write little loops, but never really know where to take them...so they just stay loops...hahaha....but I still have fun with them...very fun to take a loop and just play with filters and even solo over them sometimes...
However (no, not renoise again), I'm working on a 4 track EP in ReNoise (but with the help of psycle for a lot of aspects)...but I still want to compete in the next psycle compo...I feel...ready...
If anyone does anything with my junky old loop, let me know..I want to hear where it goes...it's like sending off a child to grow up and when it comes back all grown, you can be proud of it, even if it didn't turn out quite the way you expected because it was still born from you....hehehe..
okay, I'll shut up now (a little drunk!)
Good day, and sorry for the intoxicated babble.
