No drums... Uff, it's no problem if you thinking of techno-music only, but... Synthetic drums will spoil other styles. Well, huge drumloops suxx, but what about size limit (100kb for example)? Please, don't make a "techno-only" compo.

It's not techno only.... But there is an added challenge of making realistic synthetic drums... It's hard work, and it might not sound perfect, but it'll develop your Psycle skills to try...

In the Discworld series of books (by Terry Pratchett), the Librarian of Unseen University (a school for wizards) was accidentally turned into an orang-utan, and as a result, he only speaks with a meaningful "Oook". Like I said, it's an obscure literary reference... At least alk got it
And don't feel too bad for the librarian... As long as he knows where his bananas are coming from, he's happy.

Uff, guys, I know almost all about drums synthes - may be that's why I don't want to use it. Just listen to my new (just relesed) psy-module - these live-like accordion, and accoustic guitar sounds good only because drums are real (sampled). Change drums to synthesized ones - and you spoil all idea.
It's pity, nobody care about advanced sampler in Psycle. It is main reason of all that "use synthesized drums", "synthes rulez", etc.

It's not that nobody cares, it's just that nobody with the time, skill and knowledge to implement a more advanced sampler, is working on the project at the moment... I would love to get a sampler that does "instuments" a la XI. I would love to have Portamento-To-Note Capabilities. It would make my Guitar tunes sound SO much better...
From what I'm told, PsycleWTL has an XM compatible sampler, but I can't get it to work. Perhaps someone has the skill and knowledge to convert this from the Japanese Project...
And the point of the "Hardcore" compo is, in part, to see what Psycle can do with its synthesis capabilities... I would have liked to see a more open compo as well, but we were out-voted. I can't argue with democracy....

ok, we have only 5 entries for now (4 listed and 1 on the way)...
should we change the dates and extend the submission time ?
Another on the way from me, too. Be a shame to make everyone else who's already made a tune wait?
