ok today is the last day to enter the compo according to the rules.
if people want to extend the submission time, please tell it NOW, because only 2 people asking is not enough to change the time limit... (well let's say 3 including me...)

I can't seem to download 'Honeymoon in Kabul'. I've tried IE, Firefox & also Reget. I just keep getting the 'pro hosting' page constantly. Anyone know how it's done?

I vote for extending the time if it helps. I think there should be more entries
Rhino: the same for me, a friend downloaded it for me. Try asking somebody to send it to you.

Sure, what's the hurry?
And let's make a voting pack this time with all the tunes, it's a small bit of work only, and will make voting more comfortable for everybody.

Seeing as the deadline's been pushed back, how about updating the voting system? I think just voting for your favourite song is a really bad way of doing it.
It would be far fairer and a more accurate reflection of everyone's tastes if, in order to vote, each voter had to give all the songs that have been entered marks out of 5 or 10 or whatever.
Whilst this probably wouldn't alter the outcome for the winning song, it'd make it more equal for all the other songs after first place.
What does everyone think. Or have I missed the boat and this has already been discussed?

i agree with ksn...Rhino, that's very good idea...i hate the idea of only being able to vote for one song...it's hard to choose just one....a rating system would be excellent...

So it's the 17th already, is the compo closed or what? Can I download the tunes already or are people going to still change them?

OK, my vote is up. Great track, Rhino! It really feels like the nights awake learning or doing other work. There's a magic hour - about 3 o'clock when the world is completely asleep. That's what Insomnia sounds like. Great. I'll render it for sure and place it where my favourite tunes are.
Mfm, your stuff is also good. I expected a simple techno track and what do we got here! Man, you're getting better and better.
AndyK, you're track is indeed an 80's flavour. Also very good.
The rest represents a sort music that I don't like (especially the boom boom boom boom rythm sections) so I can't tell much about them. Even about Taika Kim's track (man, the sounds you get from Psycle are amazing).
Check mine, too. I expect comments.
...and like somebody wrote during the last compo: "Hope nobody is cheap enough to vote for his own track".
Regards,
kSh

Thanks, kSh. That was the mood I was going for when I wrote Insomnia - that and it was very late at night when I did the bulk of the composition!
Being one of the entry composers I wasn't actually going to vote for anyone's songs but now I've decided to vote for Thought #4. I'm not returning a favour. I can honestly say it's my favourite of the whole lot by a margin. I had it on repeat when I first heard it for about half a dozen times. I love the flute melody particularly - really beautiful, and then when the melody kicks back in again with the the oriental-sounding arpeggios in the background, it really lifts. Fantastic stuff.
Other entry's that I very much respect are:
Druttis : 'We2'
heatseeker : 'Versatile Brain'
The others are all of a good standard, just not to my personal taste. Taika-Kim - you're like a mad scientist with all those machines!!! The mind boggles just looking at it!
I'm impressed with the quality of entries to these competitions. Psycledelics should be proud!
