hello GoaTrance

1- you don't have to troll. as you might have seen these are rather friendly boards. so please keep this in mind when posting. you can talk about anything you can express what is bad for you in Psycle. no problem. but please don't start flame wars.
2- as you know, Psycle is an opensource free software. this means it's not in competition with any products companies or coders are seeling or plan to sell. Psycle is not the competitor of Buzz or Aero or Buzzle. it's just Psycle.
3- Psycle will be dead when there is no coder to work on it. not before that. that's one of the advantages of opensources. it can be dead commercially in the way you meant because of point 2.
4- piano roll has always been an option for Psycle coders. but for version 2, because version 1 has important limitations for the Gui.

On a side note, what is buzzle, where can you find it, and how is it licensed?

I'm always open to new software... Having said that, I still like my Psycle...

And GoaTrance, I disagree with BUZZ being more intuitive... In Psycle, you always know where to place your notes... The columns are well defined... With BUZZ's variable pattern layout, you must learn an entire new layout for each machine... Not very intuitive at all.. No standardization.

you´re acting such a FOOLS.
Jeskola Buzz is 10000000000000000000000000000 X better than this Psycle tracker , anyway BUZZle is beeing programmed and is gonna implemtent a piano roll aswelll , so forget psycle cause it looks like a kid´s toy.
Buzz rules , it´s more intuitive , you have TONS of machines and it´s more completed than Psycle.

Psycle´s DEAD.

Again a useless post. I don't mind people posting their thoughts as long as they're well supported by arguments.

You really believe this buzzle will be the ultimate solution? I visited the site and I can't say I'm impressed, the only thing what's really a new feature in it seems to be this piano roll (a vertical one at that). Of course as a buzz fan you'll probably be excited at this . Any ideas when the first beta release is?

I'm more interested in what Buzz II is going to be (I don't know the status about this).

Honestly I have no idea of the quality of the buzz machines, but there's more than enough free vsti's nowadays than I ever need. So I don't consider the amount of buzz machines an advantage.

I'm not sure why Buzz is more intuitive. It's the same as Psycle.. the main difference is the sequencer. Could you explain?

Sometimes kid's toys are more fun to play with than "serious" applications. Not that psycle is a kid's toy.. if psycle is, buzz is too and also is cubase in my opinion. So again: arguments please. The fact that you don't try to learn the differences between buzz & psycle tells me enough and I don't think I get a serious answer to this post (I would pleasantly be surprised).

What is missing in Psycle that doesn't make it complete? I'm really confused about this '

Since when is psycle dead? Buzz is dead, but Psycle is still being actively developed.

Hope you do come back and explain your post a little more..

P.S. didn't those Japanese guys plan to implement a piano roll editor into Psycle? Or was it a multipattern sequencer only?

[edit]
seems I'm a bit slow today

Cheers man , nice you understanded my opinions
about Buzz II , we´d better keep dreamin , there passed about 4 years and no more upgrades. Oskari doesnt want to talk about that , so we´d better w8 BUZZle´s gonna be released , i dont have a clue when it´s gonna be released cause BUZZle is still beeing developed. About psycle , yeah psycle´s empty , with Buzz i have TONS of tools and machines , which includes drum machines emulation TR909 and 808 , 303´s emulation and more , so you have EVERYTHING for your compositions.
Psycle is a kid´s toy cause why wasting so much time to make it "pretty" when what producers want are to make music not an adobe photoshop. the same to cubase crap and so on...
Eye candy means Cpu Killer.
and the same to fruity loops , Reason , Orion...
That programs suck , they have good sequencers but CPU , oh yeah , those good pixels are eating your cpu all the time , and you can barely hardly move to play something...
Buzz´s never dead everytime new machines are beeing developed , so each day you wake up you have something new.
Im not against Psycle , but there´s better programs out there , and one of them is Buzz , talking about softstudios and low cpu resources , Buzz´s the best.
Other programs are just second toughts if you are the happy owner of a hardware synths and rack fx.

what you say here (and words after that) is just personal opinion. please accept that other people can think differently.
i've been a registered Buzz user for years, i started using Buzz when it was still in alpha status.
i won't say Buzz is better than Psycle, and i won't say Psycle is better than Buzz.
they're just two different programs, and there is NO competition between these two excellent free software.
period.

I just want to say this: the cpu sources the gui of programs take is neglectable these days. That is, unless you're using something with less than 1ghz and 128mb ram.

Psycle isn't "eyecandy" though. It's all very minimal. In fact I can't see anything special about it what would take away machine sources.

one of the next psycledelics feature (i didn't think it would be useful on our boards: the BAN (temporary and permanent)

goatrance , even if you think Buzz is the best program you've ever played with, be sure that many other programs are really better to create pro music. but you have to pay.

so, stay cool on the board, write about Buzz if you want, attack Psycle if you want but sincerely, DON'T attack any member on the board.

Unfortunely, i'm often impatient (more than ksn). so if you don't have any constructive posts to write, don't waste our time and patience.

LOL , im not attackin anyone.
It´s only choices , Peace Dudes.
I Hope Psycle in the future becomes better than Buzz , till then ill use buzz.
I use a PIII 600mhz 512RAM.
At these days there are not programs that fit´s my needs.
- Minimal very low cpu usage
- Piano Roll
- Tons of Tools ( drums synths , basslines , everything more..)
I must say im not 100% happy with Buzz cause just dont features a godamn piano roll , and im tired to try that someone could implement it on buzz.
Peace Psyclers.

yeah, i think i would like a piano roll too, but i'm still gonna use psycle. itried buzz, but it was too fiddley. the biggest thing 'wrong' with pyslce at the moment is the lack of multi sequencing.. but that'll change with the next release... i think the biggest reason i use it is that is' open source (both for the coolness of open source - its' jsut cool - and cos it's less likely to die...)

Why ppl don't stop the Psycle vs Buzz war??????
I wish two appz evolve and we can use them to make music. Why limit ur musical instrument to only one program?? there are ppl that play Guitar and piano. Why can't we use Psycle AND buzz ???

(is the deleting posts button working??)

In response to the eyecandy topic:
Yeah, it's definitely stupid to put all those nice looking pixels in programs when, as we all know, simple pixels will be so much easier on the CPU!!!
