Specially with Compo #5 i've noticed how hard was to decide the vote, and some great songs have finished with no votes. I wanna vote more than one song...... or 'track', please!!

Since this thread is still open I've got another suggestion: RSS news feeds - there can be many of them, psycle news, new songs or even new posts on boards or changes in wiki.
And I can help with it, if anybody cares.
About the other ideas, I guess (and hope) song reviews and better compo voting is planned. The build-in IRC is interesting too, as long as it won't bother people that don't want to use it (even registered members).

Here is some article that can explaint it much better then me:
Introduction to RSS
Generally it is a list of fixed number of lastest news. You can put a link to that list to some RSS reader (standalone program or browser built-in) which watches for changes in that list and notifies you if anything new appears. It can also be used on somebodys else website to show these news without the need of manual updating (good for propagation).
I'm watching about 16 feeds now. It's usually some title,a short preview of the news text and a link to the original news on the web.

For example over at United Trackers we have a RSS newsfeed from Scene Satellite Network News (at the bottom of the front page).

I just couldn't help but notice you're using Woltlab Burning Board v1 beta. I also couldn't help but see that the current most up to date version is 2.3.2, and that Woltlab isn't a GbR anymore, it's a GmbH . Yep, time flies  ...

yeah it's totaly obsolete, but next psycledelics site will have nothing to do with it : it's 100% developed and coded by heatseeker himself

I think that the site should be based on phpBB, because it's free software, just like Psycle itself is. The songs should be called songs even in the future because vocals can be made even without a computer. Nothing else.

Well, as you probably saw, this thread is really dated.
We have had a try for two times (maybe even three), to get a new site, but it never got finished.
The latest one is this : http://psycle.sourceforge.net/pdtest/
and has no maintainer (again). (anyone volunteering?)
The problem is that if it is to contain less features, or just the same, it's unclear if we need much of a change.
phpbb is a pretty good board system, but if going to use it, then we would miss the song database, and the different software links. We could convert that to threads, but it's not the same.
This implies that we need to keep the portal, but use those boards, or make a new portal and fit phpbb in.
Of course, there's also the database migration, that could be not straightforward.
