tweaking volume on the sampler | |
Is there a way to tweak the volume on the sampler? It has no internal volume control so this is not possible without running it through some sort of effect generator.
The way to do it is simple, just run your sampler through a gainer set to "1.00" volume and tweak the gainer instead of the sampler. It's as simple as that! I'm sure more users of Psycle have already figured this out, but I thought I'd throw this tip out there for the newer users (like myself) who are just starting to figure this out.

Why not adjust the wire volumes?
1> I didn't realize you could fade in/out using the wire volume. I thought you had to tweak to get that effect.
2> I wouldn't have thought of a simple solution like that! XD

If you tweak wire volumes, you ruin your ability to control your over-all mix without editing patterns. It sounds like a good short-cut at first, but you shoot yourself in the foot. The gainer was a better idea.

You can adjust the volume of the individual samples. If you click on the edit button you can select which ever sample you want and it has a volume slider towards the bottom. You can also adjust pitch all other sorts of things. This is the best way to adjust sample volume as you can use the sampler as a mixer between syths and samples.

Robert, he's talking about tweaking the volume of samples (i.e. automated volume change during the song), which can't be done the way you're talking about. If you want to tweak individual samples, the only way at the moment (i think) is to put each sample that you want to change in a separate sampler (setting the polyphony to a lower setting), and then use gainers and tweak them in the pattern view, like kermit said.
