Hi guys, I downloaded Psycle and was very impressed with the music it can create. It brought back memories of the early 80's when I was experimenting with synths and Musique Concrete but gave them up to raise a family.

My question is... are there any tutorials where I can get started again using Psycle? Any pointers will be greatly appreciated. I've looked in the download for user guides etc. but the info is a bit too sketchy for a thicko like me.

I'm in the same boat as you in terms of not really understanding the docs. I'm a bit of a dunce when it comes to reading instructions so I just learn by trial and error and post a question on the boards here if I don't understand something. Any way, welcome to Psycle!

welcome Transcendant !

detailled docs have always been planned but i'm afraid the docs page contains all is available at the moment...

anyway the Upwego tutorial, while short and basic, should help you a bit in creating and connecting machines in machine view, in using the pattern editor and the sequence editor etc...

Psycle is a tracker. did you already use other trackers ?

using the machines is generally not very difficult and quite intuitive if you ever play with other synth/effect...

finally, later on, when you're more familiar with Psycle, you can use the commands and tweaks to make Psycle change the sounds volume, panning etc... real time...

in any case don't hesitate to post some questions here, you'll always get some answers

Thank you KSN, I've now saved the Upwego tutorial and will "have a good go at it". Perhaps creating a comprehensive guide is more of a group project rather than that of an individuals.

My experience in the 80's (and late 70's) relied on tape to tape recording and adding an extra track as I went along. Towards the end I had created a computer program that could act as a sequencer for my synthesisers using control voltage. It could also synchronise my drum machines and synths. I had created a very unique way of working
