Removing automation | |
Is there an easy way to remove automation from songs completely?
I found the global command to remove all tws/twk commands, but this leaves the data in the data column, and this migh be accidentally seen as a tempo change for example... I think it might be a good idea to include an option with the replace action to remove the data too when removing the automation commands.
I need to edit some old songs I have, but they use only VSTs that I don't have, and don't want to install again.
So I ended up with removing all effects, replacing all synths, and kind of make completely new mixes of the old songs.

The new replace box in 1.12 is able to do what you ask for, I think.
I would select search for twk, all, Vst machine index , replace with Empty empty empty.
Edit: Doh! Of course that doesn't remove the value, which is what you're asking for... Mmm... I will have to change that then...

Yeah that would be great! The ability to remove automation commands but leave the original global commands in place.

Can you specify a specific midi knob to interact with a parameter inside a vst or build in program? How do you do this if possible?
Thanks

The interaction between MIDI and Psycle plugins is one part of the program that still needs improvements.
If you go to the configuration screen (view -> settings) , the last tab is a "MIDI Mapping" window.
This window allows you to configure up to 16 different midi messages to do some of the different options, which include sending a tweak to a knob, sending a command, or sending it as midi, maybe changing its value. Other messages will be dropped.
This is enabled when the "send MIDI as mcm" is disabled.
Having the "send MIDI as mcm" enabled is usually best with VSTs, and then setup a mapping on your MIDI controller.
