From mindplay on 11.12.2001, 15:26: Automation ... ever coming? Does anybody know if automation is ever going to be built into Psycle? I've always though Psycle was very nice, but just like with Buzz, I find it rather useless with no automation ... |
From Pikari on 11.12.2001, 18:22: what kind of automation do you mean???
|
From mindplay on 11.12.2001, 19:18: Well, parameter automation obviously? The ability to record parameter changes, or just edit them with envelopes or something? ... LFOs are great fun and all, but they don't do anything for me - I need direct control over the parameters. And no, I do not feel like typing in effect commands to change the parameters - that's just a little too "eighties" for me |

From Pikari on 11.12.2001, 22:56: I agree with Mindplay, using tweaking is sometimes too difficult.
|
From ksn on 12.12.2001, 00:05: in fact thios has been dicussed a lot of times, as far as i can remember, good ideas were brought concerning this, but i think the main limitation is the actual graphic code of psycle...

From FingerSoup on 12.12.2001, 02:56: What if you created a block command to "fill in the spaces" in the effect columns. for instance, you plug in "key" tweak commands in the same track. then you select the two key tweaks, with all the space between. right-click and select "fill tweak". This will then fill in the tweaks at even measurements. ie:

From ksn on 12.12.2001, 08:55: you mean a more advanced interpolation (ctrl-i) command fingersoup ?
|
From Gerwin on 12.12.2001, 09:18: hmm yeah, this would save some twk typing time

From alk on 18.12.2001, 17:49: my 2 cents for automation |
From mindplay on 18.12.2001, 18:06: Sounds like a ton of work. Let's be realistic ... I'd be happy with just a simple automation function, synced with the pattern (alongside) as you say. And multiple envelopes, as you say, is an absolute must. I don't see any use for assigning the same automation graph to multiple parameters though? And curved lines would just be a waste of clockcycles - if you want curved transitions, you can draw curves with lines, dig? |
