  Psycle on Tablets

I've just bought a tablet based on Windows 8.1, and I couldn't resist trying Psycle on it.

I've taken some screenshots for you, because a picture is worth a thousand words. Take a look at the images by CLICKING HERE.

It works fine except for some display problems (related to dpi) (screenshots 4, 5, 6, 9 & 10), and some error messages using WASAPI driver (but it works) (screenshots 11 & 12). The error window of screenshot 12 was showed when I changed the driver to WASAPI with a song already open.

And one last thing: maybe it will be necessary to have a bigger skin for tablet displays. It's really difficult to hit buttons and toolbar icons even using a pen.

I knew about the about screen and the wire dialog problem with DPI. I might be able to correct it using doublebuffering and then using the stretchblit.

It indeed seems it would need a specific toolbar image. Now that I am able to replace the image, i could investigate how to change the size.

The problem with the pattern editor (as you probably saw already) is because the sizes are specified in the visual tab of the settings. Possibly, it could set a different defaults if it detects a high DPI, but other than that, it is not a bug.

The problem in the parameters view and master is a bit more problematic.
Supposedly, the master machine was DPI aware, but it clearly doesn't work.
The parameter window uses a fixed size, and probably that would need an autoresize with DPI.

The problem with wasapi happens because it cannot set it while the other hasn't stopped (and that lags some milliseconds). I should probably add a sleep in there to prevent this error.
The problem in arguru synth is probably because it couldn't set a correct samplerate, and since it allocates a table based on it, it had that crash.

Apart from those issues, Psycle runs really fine.

I'll think on a skin design for tablets or touch screens.
