  Notes won\'t stop playing.

Hello, I'm new to this, and I've read all the basic tutorials, but I'm confused on why my notes keep playing when I'm recording them. When I put a note down on the edit mode, how do I get them to play what I want them to play, and then stop, and not keep playing as if I was holding down the key?

I believe you just missed the note stop note. This note is added by clicking on the number 1 on the top left side of the keyboard.

Virtual instruments (and any looped sample), will play until the envelope doesn't reach its end, or receives a note stop.

The advantage of having a note on, and a note off is that you can make the note shorter or longer, and with the help of an envelope, change the volume of the sound while it plays.

Take a look at some of the tutorial and demo songs that are installed with Psycle.

They are located in the Psycle Songs directory inside of the Shared Documents folder (i.e. not in my documents, but on the shared one).

I just wanted to add to this for some clarification since I got kind of confused by what [JAZ] wanted to say.

Basically, when you want a note to stop, you just click on the line you want the note to stop on and then press the number 1. If done correctly, you should see "off 00 00".

For example, if you have a note that starts at line 0 and you want it to end on line 3 it should look like:

Line

0 D#3 00 00

1

2

3 off 00 00
