  Anyone have Classical/Orchestral VSTs?

Hello!
I just downloaded Psycle today, and I'm hoping to use it with some real music for a film project.

My question is, do you know if there are any realistic VSTs for instruments? I'm particularly looking for timpani, violins, cello, brass, bass, and any others would be nice.

If this is a stupid question, then please forgive me! I am COMPLETELY new to this, and I know almost nothing about all this VSTs, and machines and such like.

Thanks!

Hi Largo and welcome to Psycledelics.

Of course you can use Psycle to perform your compositions with real (sampled) instruments. It depends on how much money do you want to spend.

There're a lot of VSTs out there dedicated to recreate real instruments even orchestral ones like violins, celos, ensemble, brass, and so on. Please take a look at the reference site for this kind of plugins: KVR Audio. Performing a quick search you can find a lot of instruments dedicated to this task, from free to (really) expensive ones.

Another alternative is to use soundfonts that are freely available on the net played in VST samplers. Please, visit one of the reference site for this kind of sample formats: SF2MIDI. You can load SF2 samples on SFZ+ plugin that is freely available to download.

I hope that it'll be helpful for you. Please don't hesitate to come back here to clear any doubt.

Enjoy Psycle.

As far as VSTs go I have really liked the DSK ones. Looking around KVR is a good idea though.

If you want to go the soundfont route I don't really have any suggestions for where to look.
