  Oups!

Ok native presets selections ! forget it!

And about the users...

I use different users for different setup of the same software ans normaly, it start always flat and after the user change what he want but with psycle it result of a lot of files not found windows to close...it is exactly what hapened to me.

The organize vst window have place for new ideas...to be able to make groups maybe like a drum selection, base, guitar...

Psycle is still the fastest way between inspiration and composition!

Something I don't get when using the send return mixer:

When I connect machines to the mixer everything goes fine(send return mixer is directly connected to the master).
However, when I add an effect(like a compressor) between the mixer and the master, all sound is gone.
the effect after the mixer seems to get no signal.
is this also a bug?

Roel:

Erm.. i'm not sure i fully understand the setup you mention (and psycle should disallow incorrect setups).

The send/return mixer works in three ways:

* Simple mixer with volume and panning:
Connect machines to it, and if asked "use send/return" say no

* Mixer with sends, the return of which goes to the output of the mixer.
Connect machines to it, and if asked "use send/return" say yes.
Use the send knobs to send signal from input machines to the sends. Use sliders to control the input volume.

* Mixer with sends, the return of which can go to other sends
Connect machines to it, and if asked "use send/return" say yes.
Use the send knobs to send signal from input machines to the sends. Use sliders to control the input volume.
Use the blue leds on the right side to route one return to another send.

In any case, an effect connected to the Mixer *as a send*, cannot be connected to any other place. Psycle should dissallow doing it, anyway, so If it does, it is a bug.
(Check the "Example - mixerdemo.psy" song to see all these cases)

Now you say you connect a compressor to the master. Can you describe the inputs and outputs of this compressor?

[JAZ]:
If I got Roel right he inserts a compressor after the send/return mixer, ie the mixed signal is going through an insert. Smth like this:
Instrument
|
signal
|
send/return ---send fx
|
mixed signal
|
insert fx
|
master

However, this works perfectly fine here. My guess is that there's smth wrong with the compressor setiings (I don't know which one is used so can't say for sure -- too high threshold setting maybe?)

I've found some issues on this great 1.10:

1) If I've opened the GUI of a VST (not natives) when the MIDI keyb is off, there's a pure virtual function call if I turn on my MIDI keyb afterwards. I've copied the window message

quote:

---------------------------
Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
---------------------------
Runtime Error!

Program: D:\PROGRAMAS\TRACKERS\PSYCLE\MFC\1.10.0\psycle.exe

R6025 - pure virtual function call
---------------------------
Aceptar
---------------------------

Sometimes I've got an error message:

quote:

---------------------------
Error
---------------------------
Machine: Crystal
DLL: d:\plugins\vst\vsti\synth\semimodular\crystal 2.2\crystal 2.dll
An exception occured in module: (unkown module), function: int __cdecl seib::vst::CVSTHost::AudioMasterCallback(struct AEffect *,int, int, int, void *,float), file: .\src\Seib-vsthost\CVSTHost.Seib.cpp:1376

ellipsis: unknown type
The machine has been set to bypassed/muted to prevent it from making the host crash.
You should save your work to a new file, and restart the host.

2) "Open preset" in VSTs doesn't work (nothing happens)

"Open preset" partially works for me.
I find I cannot open VST presets I've saved with Psycle 1.10 itself (whether fxb or fxp). I only get an "Error loading file" message.
I can load ones I had saved in OpenMPT, however (.fxp files). Odd, that.

Also, the sliders that the reaeq-standalone VST effect uses are invisible for some reason. ( http://www.reaper.fm/reaplugs/ that is.)

Lastly, something I noticed in a thread in the tech section - when I load a sample, a new Sampler is created. However, also, a new one is also created every time I click "Wave Ed".

Still.. I can definitely see continuing to work using Psycle. So nice being able to chain things together so easily, and adjust their volume levels. It's good to come back to it.

[JAZ] since you're planning a new Psycle version soon, I can't resist to request some features. It's stronger than me. =)

1 - Would it be too difficult to implement a global clock in the tool bar? It would be more easy to navigate in the project knowing the time position of each pattern and we can see the time position during playback as well.

Maybe something like that:

http://img195.imageshack.us/img195/3862/...globalclock.png

(And note the bigger sample navigation buttons. What do you think?)

2 - And last: how about to put the same drop down button in the instrument editor window? It would make more sense if we could call the samples drop down directly from the editor.

Hope these request are not much difficult to implement and they're make some sense.

BUG

Tried to use the wav editor to amplify some samples, with no result.

Select all (CTRL+A) -> amplify selection -> desired value = nothing happens

Mmm...

I'll need to investigate this bug. It happens sometimes, but not in all situations.

When it happens, try to close the wave editor, change the sample (instrument) selected and open the wave editor again.

JAZ I tried it with no result. Also, tried closing the prog and open again. Same result.

Another Bug (I think):

2 - Pattern view: if we have some track names and then insert a track between them with the "add new track on cursor" option, the track is created but the names don't move along.

EXAMPLE:

00:kickdrum | 01:hihat
C-4___________C-4

If we add a track between 00 and 01, we get:

00:kickdrum | 01:hihat | 02:new
C-4______________________C-4

Hope this schematic makes sense...
