Downloaded them and plan to go through them all.

They look very well done, good work .

Thanks for your tutorials, really appreciated.
Compressor is the most obscure thing in sound processing, its good that you payed so much attention on it, but i still have a question - there is a way compressors produce a jungle-like sound from a usual generated drums, like used in your first example? how to make them sound like this. (two oldschool loops, first one may be just special samples, but second is an obvious compressor trick)
Is it possible to make this sound without samples, using just internal machines?

From plastic on 15.10.2011, 02:36:

file is wav.rar - hoster gives many useless information :-))

Thanks for the tutos, Angelus! I'm specially interested in the multiband compression tutorial!

Thanks for your comments. I'm still working on more tutorials

plastic: Sorry for the delay. I've just downloaded your samples. Bear in mind that they have been performed using hi-end ($$$) software/hardware, by pro mastering engineers. Maybe it's possible to perform an approach to that sound, but I can't promise anything (please, re-read the latest sentence of the first post ). I just am focusing on the use of Psycle native plug-ins.

ksn: Of course you do. I'm really pleased.

My next tutorials will be focused on how to expand the stereo field (useful in the mastering step) and -I hope so- the mid/side technique, using only a chain of Psycle native plug-ins.

Angelus: Bear in mind, that loops are about 15 years old ) Shure they were performed by extra-class sound designers, but all sound that we try to get with Psycle some days invented and produced on hi-end equipment, just remember the 303 machine... So, i think, we have rather good "equipment", problem is how to manage it properly...

Snare is a problem... Show me well snare, generated of oscillators and LFOs, i'll shake your hand ))

I've updated my set of Psycle tutorials with three new ones:
- Sound Design: Spanish Guitar
- Sound Design: PowerGuitar
- Enhancement: Aural Exciter

The first one was included in the Psycle 1.10.1 release. It uses the new internal machine 'Note Duplicator 2' (great one!) to split notes by machine to emulate the sound of a classical Spanish guitar.

The second one explains how to develop an electric guitar amplifier to emulate a real power guitar.

The third one explains the basis of exciters with a practical example using only native Psycle plugins.

Now the set of tutorials is classified as follows:

- Dynamics:
----- Psycle Tutorial - Dynamics_Compression.psy
----- Psycle Tutorial - Dynamics_Limiter.psy
----- Psycle Tutorial - Dynamics_MultibandCompression.psy
----- Psycle Tutorial - Dynamics_NewYorkCompressor.psy

- Enhancers:
----- Psycle Tutorial - Enhancement_Aural Exciter.psy

- Filters:
----- Psycle Tutorial - Filters.psy

- Sound Design:
----- Psycle Tutorial - Sound Design_eBass.psy
----- Psycle Tutorial - Sound Design_Pads.psy
----- Psycle Tutorial - Sound Design_PowerGuitar.psy
----- Psycle Tutorial - Sound Design_Spanish Guitar.psy

- Stereo:
----- Psycle Tutorial - Fatten Sounds.1.psy
----- Psycle Tutorial - Fatten Sounds.2.psy
