  Math and Music

I downloaded dw's song e^(ipi)+1 and have really enjoyed it. I remember e^(ipi)+1 having to do with trig and sine waves and the like but how do you make a song out of a formula like that?
I would love to see the math behind it. It really is an enjoyable song. If anyone makes any other songs using math, I would be glad to hear about it.

e^(i*pi)+1 = 0

is the pretty amazing Euler's Identity:

I'd be surprised (amazed!) if it played any part in the generation of the music other than for inspiration

For maths and music you might be interested in algorithmic composition: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Algorithmic_music

Thanks for the replies. I checked out some of the algorithm music, I think dw's has some human intervention...it's too good.
