a few suggestions for the next psycle

Psycle is excellent for now but I think coud have some features more like these one
-The possibility to record an external source (eg: guitar) like cubase does
-the possibility to organize the vst in the vst and vsti list ( eg: chorus, compression, VSTI, etc), my vst list is so big that it's often very hard to use them all
-The possibility to make non entirety tempos (eg: 103.25, 106.67...)

apparently you're not the only person who thinks so.. two of those features have already been implemented in the latest alphas

thanks to quantinuity, there's a new 'custom categories' sorting mode in the new machine dialog, which allows you to group all machines (not just vsts) in user-defined folders.

as for the fractional bpms, i got that working a while back, but since it calls for a (very minor) file-format change, it's possible that it won't be showing up in the next stable release. it's probably a better idea to save up all the file format adjustments for the next major version, so there's one big change instead of lots of tiny ones.

about the recording stuff.. a record button in the wave editor might not be too far away, but i wouldn't hold my breath for full-blown disk-streaming audio tracks.. i could be wrong, though, who knows

1. Can't you use an external audio editor like audacity to record an external source ?
2. Already a work in progress
3. Pointless. Why on earth would you want to ? So, you mean to tell me that you can actually detect a tempo difference between 103 and 103.67 ?

1-of course I can! but put this in psycle would be a better way for synchronyse with host!
2-great!
3- Because lot of my stuff is remix and most of the time they have these kind of tempos, of course I can change it with audacity but most of the time the synchronisation doesn't work well
Sorry if my suggestions hurted you, that was not the purpose, all of you guys make a great stuff and my music has become almost professional with psycle

seriously?
anyone who's ever tried to use psycle to do remix stuff, sync to video/something else (eg film scoring), or work with recorded live audio can tell you how much of a difference .67 bpm can make.. even if you're not doing any of that, there're lots of drumloops out there, both commercially and online, that don't sync well to an integral bpm. even the best timestretching algorithms leave artifacts, and resampling isn't an option for loops/recordings with tonal components..

it's not something i anticipate using every day, but i'd much rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it.. especially since we're not talking about adding a feature, just removing a restriction.

Yeah, fractional tempos are VERY useful for syncing things from other sources, even from other sequencers whose implementation of tempos doesn't quite match (I've had it happen!).
