  multi channel midi input

Does the multi channel midi input actually works ? I couldn't get it to work. The midi monitor shows incoming notes but Psycle produces no sound. 'midi active' flag is off. The docs don't say anything about turining the flag on / off.

Anyone has this working ?

hi,

can you tell me the exact version number of psycle?

From fiasko on 03.07.2005, 05:33:

I believe it was 1.7.55

Hi,

versions between 1.7.54 and 1.7.58 had problems with the midi config ; the main one being that the default settings didn't have correct values for recording midi events.

It seems it's fixed since 1.7.59 :-)

To get the default settings, delete all the Midi* entries in the registry settings

fiasko:
MIDI is enabled in the input/output tab inside the configuration dialog.
Enabling it means selecting a midi input device and a midi clock (generally, the same as the midi input device).

The option under these settings about using midi keyboard or a sequencer, allows to send the output to different machines or not.

I am not sure how do you want to use the midi channels. I ask this, because if you want to control multiple machines, you will have to enable the "sequencer" mode, and send midi messages to configure psycle to map midi channels to psycle machines. (this is explained more or less in the midi docs inside the psycle "docs" subdir).

Anyway, you might found yourself limited in this situation. (It was only thought as to control psycle as if it were an sound generator, and using a sequencer as the editor).

I have everything setup ok. The midi monitor shows incoming notes on different channels going to different machines but there is no sound. It's the same with 1.7.59.

Receiving Midi Data flag flashes while Midi Active flag is off.

I want to sequence a bit 'outside' of Psycle (with skale and cubase) and record notes back. Just to keep things more interesting Breeze of fresh air is sometimes needed

it will not record notes, at least it was not meant to do that.

Oh.. I hope you are not using Directsound. That part was only coded to work with Waveout, and **maybe** it works with ASIO, but i don't know.

My sound card doesn't work with MME driver at all. Couldn't the multi channel input be easily extended to direct X ?

amazing... progress never stops.

about extending MME-only features to DirectX or ASIO, i have no idea, other people have better understanding of the code.
