Hello! (dont worry, no virus here ;))

Ok ok a bad one... I had something to say, too. I'm a brand new psycle user. Just discovered it yesterday, seems too good to be real . I'd like to know if there are more ppl making rock/metal style music with it? What do you think about the sound quality of psycle compared to Skale tracker and Renoise? Cheers for the developers for this great tracker!

PS. What the hell is the matter with this site? I'm getting 'Internal server error'-messages every second time I try to do something here...

Welcome to Psycledelics. We hope you have a good stay and bla bla bla..

About the site... it is suffering these problems almost since the appearence of "that virus". Normally, these errors are not frequent (although not rare either).

I play around with rock and other guitar-based music in Psycle... I was supposed to release a song just after the summer, but I never got around to naming/sending the thing... Been to busy with school.

In regards to Skale, I haven't used it... I hated the FT2 interface, and Psycle just seems more IT-user friendly... Same goes for ReNoise.... But they're both quality trackers. Psycle's interface is what keeps me with Psycle...

The interface is very good indeed, yes. Also the ASIO-support is a priceless feature... Skale beats renoise in sound quality for now. It has great transparency in the sound, but the Skale developement seems very slow. Baktery hardly ever communicates with Skale community, really frustrating. About psycles sound quality; seems very good.

From kvaksha on 03.02.2004, 12:37:

BTW about ASIO
I have Wechsel ASIO4All driver installed, but my AC97 onboard sound seems to support ASIO only at 48,000Hz. Is it a good idea to use ASIO driver with Psycle at this sample rate? I actually tried it but the sound seemed to be either too loud or even slightly distorted--I'm still undecided whether the former or the latter.

you'd be advised to use psycle at 44khz, if you want other's songs to sound correctly (as some synths and effects sound different at different rate)

Thanx for advice, alk!
I think I'll stick to 'don't mend what's not broken' philosophy with this issue as I'm quite happy with the MME Psycle sound

i have tracked some metal songs although never released i am a metal guitarist so that was the first thing i started with but also my love more electronic stuff brought me to my current style

Well, as it is now the sound quality in Skale is better during playback than in Renoise, but Renoise has one of the best sound renderers of all music programs!
They have fixed the soundquality in the comming version of Renoise which now has the best sound quality of Skale, and madtracker and modplugtracker. DonŽt know how god psycles soundqulity is though...

For me I mainly use Renoise right now because of track envelopes and better midi recording etc. But once Psycle comes with a arranger IŽll switch...

From dBlues on 08.02.2004, 18:21:

Whats so good in Renoise's midi-support?

From TranceMyriad on 09.02.2004, 09:07:

One of the disadvantages of the Psycle Midi implementation is that it doesn't let you record in real time e.g. the notes are recorded in a pattern as you play them instead of just sequentially without a pattern.
