HEY GUYS. IS IT WORTH DOWNLOADING THIS SOFTWARE IF I DO NOT HAVE ANY HARDWARE/OUTBOARD. I AM JUST STARTING OUT AND WANNA MAKE TRIBAL/TEKHOUSE TYPE TUNES. WILL PSYCLE ENABLE ME TO DO THIS. ANY ADVICE OR HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED.

First piece of advice: Turn Caps lock off.

By hardware, I am assuming you meand MIDI keyboards, drum machines, etc... You do not need any of these. It SUPPORTS MIDI but does not require it. When we say machines, we mean plugins that simulate these exterior products. It works like a regular tracker in the way you play music, but your instrumentation is "generated" by "machine" plugin software. One of the plugins is a WAV player, so you can still get that oldskool tracker sound.

You will need a sound card though... If you hear WAV output in Windows, it should work for you. I reccomend you have a PII 300, but I have heard of people running Psycle on a P233.

Psycle is designed with "tech" music in mind. House, trance, goa, and other modern psychedelic music lends itself well to Psycle, but your mind is the limit here. For instance, I've written some convincing Punk riffs with Psycle, and with the right drum samples, or some tooling around with JMdrum, you could easily do jungle/tribal music. If you have a vision as to what you want to hear, you can easily use the effects and generators to make what you want.
It's small... Download and try it. It's self-contained, so you shouldn't have any rogue registry entries, etc... if you decide to uninstall. Don't forget to get some VST's and VSTi's (They're cubase plugins) if you want something different than the native Psycle stuff.
